What is the difference between PC based and DVR Systems

PC based means you use a plug in a USB Converter box (supplied) to your PC USB port, it converts the signal, to PC format, and your PC hard-drive records the video, live video can be viewed on your PC monitor, this is the most economical way to obtain video security, however the computer should be in good working order and specification, and must be left running, to operate, remote access, is available via the internet also, provided you have DSL connected.

DVR (digital recorder) has its own built in hard-drive, and runs independently, it can be connected to any TV/Monitor for viewing, and in addition can be wired to your Router/switch, for viewing from any PC on the same network, remote access, is available via the internet also, provided you have DSL connected.

1. Will Installation require redecoration due to cable runs?

Generally you be able to run cables without disturbing your decorations.

2. Can I have a mix of camera Models?

Yes our kits offer you a choice included in the price, and replacement upgrades are also listed.

3. Whats the maximum number of cameras that can be used on one system?

16 for DVR (see sizes of systems)  4 for PC based

4. Can I view the cameras live, from anywhere?

Yes, if you use our software on another PC connected to the internet, or direct from a browser such as internet explorer.

5. I Have seen cheaper kits advertised?

Our kits are high specification, we do not sell low specification equipment, as shipping is direct from the manufacturer, your cost is kept to the minimum, ensuring the get the best quality and specification for your money.
